Anxiety related disorders
Affecting approximately 1 in 6 people, anxiety disorders are very common and definitely not something to feel embarrassed about.
We all get anxious from time to time and this is perfectly normal and for most of us it is a natural response which can be useful for heightening our senses and giving us the increased adrenalin we need to deal with a particular situation. But sometimes anxiety can shift from being a normal response to a problem response with symptoms becoming unmanageable and you begin to feel less in control, building gradually or quickly from a slight worry to a full blown panic attack.
Symptoms can include:
- restlessness and an inability to relax
- poor sleep
- muscle tension/pain
- headaches
- joint pain
- tightness or pain in your chest
- stomach pains, and diarrhoea
As some of these symptoms can point towards other
medical problems, you should
always consult your GP before undergoing
hypnotherapy.
